Oax, Mex, 1994. Leobardo Carmona Gijón (Leo Carmona) is an artist and storyteller with a body of work consisting mainly of portrait, lifestyle and documentary photography. Influenced by his experience as a Oaxaqueño/Mexican immigrant, Leo is interested in creating artistic work that explores the beauty, complexities and realities of his community.
Some of Leo’s past clients include Brown.Badass.Bonita, Rebels & Scholars, The Seattle Public Library, YWCA of King County, Patt’s Fine Arts Center, Washington Immigrant Solidarity Network, and Somos Seattle.
Leo holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Latin American Studies from the University of Washington. He is currently based in Seattle.
